Hertfordshire wedding photographer – I’d been looking forward to Millie and Zuz’s wedding at Micklefield Hall for ages! I first met Zuz through his work at another gorgeous wedding venue near London (Hedsor House), then when I met his fiancee Millie at a wedding fair I just knew it would be an incredible wedding. Turns out that I was right!
Millie and Zuz are a really lovely pair, inside and out, and their personalities really came through in the way they planned their day. There was a brilliant mix of beautiful wedding details, big groups of their closest friends and family, plenty going on for the kids and, most importantly, a lot of fun. Happily the weather played along too. It was another sunny day at Micklefield Hall, which is particularly lovely when you have a wedding planned around the outdoor spaces.
Millie and Zuz chose to get married outside at Micklefield’s beautiful temple, a fairytale setting for any wedding. The atmosphere during the ceremony was lovely. Having such a big wedding party and so many close friends meant there was plenty of energy throughout the whole day – exactly what you want from a couple as sociable and fun as these two.
Micklefield Hall is a wedding venue that gives you so many options for an outdoor wedding. The temple, gardens and surrounding countryside make such a lovely backdrop, and on a sunny day there are opportunities for photographs everywhere you look.
There were lots of children at the wedding, and they were very much included in the day rather than being expected to sit quietly on the sidelines. The bouncy castle was a huge hit, naturally (particularly with the bride!), and there was plenty of fun happening around the lawn.
After the delicious meal (thank you Kalm Kitchen!) we snuck away for some photographs of the newlyweds as the light started to get softer. We were treated to a gorgeous golden hour and the portraits from then are some of my favourite photographs from the day. Millie and Zuz were absolute naturals in front of the camera, which made my job very easy. We wandered around, chatted and took advantage of the light without making the whole thing feel like a formal photoshoot.
It was such a pleasure photographing these two. A beautiful couple, a beautiful venue, brilliant friends and family, glorious sunshine and plenty of opportunities for everyone to have a good time. Congratulations, Millie and Zuz. It was lovely to be there to photograph it all!
