Millbridge Court wedding photography – I always love photographing weddings at Millbridge Court, so I was really looking forward to seeing it again after its recent refurbishment. I’m lucky enough to be one of their recommended photographers, and it’s easy to see why couples love getting married there. It’s a super stylish Surrey wedding venue, with beautiful spaces that flow brilliantly throughout the day, and the team are always so friendly, calm and lovely to work with (hi Charlotte!).
The timing couldn’t have been better either. We were right in the middle of another heatwave, so everyone was incredibly grateful for Millbridge Court’s excellent air conditioning! It made such a difference, especially after spending time outside, and it meant everyone could cool down.
Brooke and Christopher are both actors, and they brought the best energy to the whole day. They’re so much fun to be around, constantly laughing, up for anything and completely wrapped up in each other. I never had to try to encourage them to smile or interact – they naturally did that all day long. It’s always a joy photographing couples who are so obviously happy together.
The wedding had a truly lovely atmosphere. Every guest seemed genuinely delighted to be there, everyone was so welcoming, and it was one of those weddings where I noticed my cheeks were hurting on the way home because I’d been grinning so much. The energy was infectious.
The wedding ceremony took place outside beneath the beautiful arbour, with glorious sunshine and plenty of happy tears. Afterwards everyone spilled out onto the lawns for drinks before the delicious wedding breakfast (thank you Kalm Kitchen!).
After the main course and a few traditional speeches guests went outside for the patisserie bar – mini puddings served beautifully. There were then a few more informal speeches. I’ve photographed speeches in all sorts of places over the years, but having them outside worked brilliantly. Guests naturally gathered around, there was a really relaxed feel, and it was great from my point of view as it was easy to capture everyone’s reactions. There was laughter coming from every direction, lots of hugs, and so many genuine moments between family and friends.
Brooke had chosen a gorgeous bright colour palette which looked incredible against the gardens. The bridesmaids wore coordinating dresses rather than matching exactly, and I absolutely loved the look. The colours complemented each other perfectly while letting everyone wear something that suited them, and together with Seana’s Flowers beautiful floristry it made the whole day feel vibrant, fresh and full of personality.
As the day went on the celebrations carried on exactly as they’d started – loads of laughter, brilliant music, packed dance floor and a couple who looked like they were having the time of their lives.
Thank you so much, Brooke and Christopher, for asking me to capture such an incredibly happy day. It was an absolute pleasure spending it with you both and all your wonderful family and friends. I hope these photographs always remind you just how much love, laughter and joy surrounded you from beginning to end.
