I’m having quite a run of weddings at Micklefield Hall at the moment, and I’m certainly not complaining! It’s one of my favourite places to photograph, and Sarah and Dave’s wedding was another lovely reminder of why I enjoy working there so much.
Sarah and Dave have two gorgeous young daughters, and their wedding day was very much a family affair. There was loads for the children to do, which meant they could properly enjoy the day alongside the grown-ups rather than simply being expected to sit quietly and behave themselves!
There was a craft table which was a definite hit, and a bouncy castle which provided plenty of entertainment throughout the day. And then, of course, there was the dancefloor. The girls absolutely loved it and it was so lovely seeing them throwing themselves into the dancing and generally having the best time.
The whole day had that really lovely, relaxed family feel. Nothing felt too formal or overly precious, and there was plenty of time for everyone to enjoy themselves together.
Sarah and Dave got married outside by the pond at Micklefield Hall, which is such a beautiful spot for a ceremony. It was another warm, sunny day too, so everyone could make the most of being outside and enjoying the grounds. I’ve photographed so many weddings at Micklefield now that I’ve seen the place in all sorts of weather, but I’m definitely not getting bored of those sunny wedding days!
There were lots of lovely little moments throughout the day, particularly involving the girls. They were very much part of everything, from perfectly (and dramatically!) throwing petals as they walked down the aisle through to the celebrations afterwards, and having them involved made the whole wedding feel even more personal.
The flowers from Andrew Fleming looked beautiful around the venue, and Kalm Kitchen kept everyone very well fed. Cosmic Events provided the music and, as the day went on, the dancefloor became increasingly popular with both the adults and the children. And big thanks to Jesse who second shot for me beautifully as ever.
Sarah and Dave, thank you for letting me capture such a lovely day for you. It was an absolute pleasure.
