Foxhills Wedding Photography – Matt & Becks’ sunny wedding

Foxhills Wedding Photography – I always love photographing weddings at Foxhills Country Club, partly because it’s only a short drive from home, and partly because it’s such a gorgeous place to spend the day. I do joke that one day I’ll become a member… but until then, photographing weddings there is definitely the next best thing!

Set amongst beautiful Surrey countryside, Foxhills feels tucked away from everything. With its stunning grounds, elegant manor house and purpose-built wedding spaces, it has loads of variety for photographs while still feeling really relaxed. Whether you’re planning an intimate wedding or a much bigger celebration, it works brilliantly for both.

This wedding was particularly special for me because I already knew Becks. Our children are friends, so when she and Matt asked me to photograph their wedding it genuinely meant a lot. Being trusted to capture someone’s wedding is always an honour, but even more so when it’s someone you know personally.

They kept the day intentionally intimate, with fewer than 50 of their closest family and friends. The ceremony took place in the Orangery, which is such a lovely space. It was filled with natural light and felt really personal without being overly formal.

The weather certainly made itself known! It was one of the hottest days of the year, so everyone was very grateful when a quick change of plan meant the wedding breakfast was moved into one of Foxhills’ beautifully air-conditioned rooms. It was the best decision, I was very happy! Everyone could actually relax, enjoy the food and cool down a little before the celebrations continued.

One thing Becks and Matt were very clear about before the wedding was that neither of them enjoys having their photograph taken. It’s something I hear all the time, and I can totally empathise. We popped round the grounds (on a golf buggy!) for couple photographs after the meal (once the sun had cooled a little). Rather than spending ages posing, we kept everything really natural and easy-going. A few gentle prompts, lots of chatting, and simple walking shots, and most importantly not taking them away from their guests for very long!

As the evening went on, lots more guests arrived to join the celebrations. The dancefloor was absolutely packed by the time I left, with DJ Lee Russell keeping everyone dancing despite the heat. It was the perfect ending to such a relaxed, joyful day.

Becks and Matt, thank you so much for asking me to capture your wedding. It was such a privilege to be there with you both and your families, and I hope these photographs bring back all the memories for years to come.

Love Sarah x
