Chenies Manor Wedding Photography – Cleo and Tom got married in June, and while summer clearly hadn’t read the memo, the weather honestly didn’t put a dent in what was such a lovely day. It rained for most of it, but these two were so happy and relaxed that it barely mattered.
The morning started at Cleo’s parents’ beautiful house, where she got ready with her family and bridesmaids. There was such a lovely atmosphere all morning – lots of excitement, lots of laughter, and everyone just genuinely happy to be there. Once everyone was ready, it was just a five-minute trip down the road to Chalfont St Giles Parish Church.
Their ceremony was really personal and felt so warm and meaningful. It was led by an old family friend, which made it feel even more special, and there was a gorgeous sense of celebration throughout.
After the ceremony we had a quick confetti run (despite the rain – and the brollies made it even more fun!). We then headed to Chenies Manor House. I work there quite a bit and it’s always such a joy to go back. It was lovely to see Lucie running everything so brilliantly as ever. The gardens were looking incredible as ever, although we mostly admired them from the comfort of indoors because it was so damp! The marquee looked particularly stunning. There were so many beautiful flowers and everything felt so colourful and inviting.
Thankfully we got a break in the weather during the drinks reception and managed to pop outside for group photos, complete with umbrellas. I always think umbrellas can look quite fun in photographs anyway, and everyone was in great spirits.
By the time everyone had eaten their delicious food, the rain had eased off and we headed back outside. The bridal party, now slightly merrier than earlier in the day, joined in for some very fun photos. Cleo and Tom then took a pre-portrait session shot to warm themselves up, which might be an idea I’ll suggest at other weddings! We then wandered around the Chenies Manor grounds for some couple photographs. It was so nice to finally make the most of those incredible gardens (and I very much enjoyed Tom giving his beautiful new wife a piggy back!).
More than anything though, what I’ll remember about Cleo and Tom’s wedding is just how lovely everyone was. They were surrounded by such kind, warm people all day, and there was such a relaxed, happy atmosphere from beginning to end. It was an absolute joy to be their wedding photographer – thank you and huge congratulations Cleo and Tom!
