Hedsor House wedding photography – Adam and Katie’s Easter wedding at Hedsor House was an absolute delight from start to finish. They are such brilliant people. Warm, fun, good looking and very, very loved! The whole day had an amazing energy running through it and I loved it.
Hedsor is an incredible luxury Georgian country house just outside Taplow in Buckinghamshire. In my not very humble opinion it is one of the best wedding venues in the UK, and I never take for granted how lucky I am to be trusted with Hedsor House wedding photography.
The morning prep was great – busy, excited, and so full of joy. There was a real buzz in the room while Katie and her bridesmaids got ready. Hedsor House is always a dream for prep photographs – the light and space in the bridal suite is heavenly. One of my favourite moments was getting Katie and her bridesmaids out onto Hedsor’s iconic balcony for some photos of them in their robes with champagne. It’s such a classic spot and always delivers, but with these guys it felt especially fun. I also loved that Katie wore her late nan’s 1960s Russel and Bromley wedding shoes! They fit perfectly and looked beautiful.
The ceremony itself was very touching. Adam and Katie had clearly put a lot into making it personal, and it showed – heartfelt vows, a few laughs, and even a full-on singalong. Not something you get at every wedding, and it worked so well. Adam very nearly nailed it completely… just a tiny slip on Katie’s name, which she took remarkably well. I’d say he got away with it (although see if you can work out which picture below was from that moment!).
Afterwards, everyone gathered for drinks in the elegant drawing room. There was crazy golf set up outside on the lawn which was such a good idea and made for some great candid moments. During the drinks reception we took some family photographs in the sunken garden, and on the front steps. Katie, Adam and I then went off for some couple portraits where the wind tried to steal the limelight a little, resulting in some fun shots where Katie’s veil was going crazy!
And then there was Michael G Moore – the piano animal himself. He is an absolute highlight of any wedding, and this one was no exception. He started the day playing cello during the ceremony (beautifully, obviously) and played lovely music during the drinks reception. During the delicious wedding breakfast he was on piano and (inevitably!) guests couldn’t resist getting up and dancing between courses. It’s amazing to me how much he really is a one man vibe machine, and creates as much atmosphere and pure joy as some of the 10 people show bands I work with. Not many people can pull that off by themselves, but he really can. I’ve actually hired him for five of my own parties, which probably tells you everything you need to know about my obsession with the man!
I’m friends with Katie and Adam, so by the time the evening party rolled around, I’d officially put my camera down (mostly) and joined in properly, which was such a treat. My husband was there as a guest too which was fun! The dancefloor was absolutely packed from the start – ties round heads, people on shoulders, the lot. Boujee Music Live kept everything going, and MGM finished things off in full party mode. It was big, loud, and completely brilliant.
There wasn’t a single dull moment all day. That’s entirely down to Adam and Katie. They’re just those kinds of people – generous, fun, and completely themselves – and the wedding reflected that perfectly.
