Windsor Guildhall Wedding Photography – I live in Englefield Green, a village just outside Windsor, so I’m always delighted when I get to photograph weddings so close to home at Windsor Guildhall. Amy and Simon got married on a beautiful spring day and it was a really perfect wedding. They opted for a small wedding, with just a couple of dozen guests. I was only with them for 3 hours but that was enough to capture some beautiful memories for them.
Windsor Guildhall is a Grade I listed building built in the 17th century and it makes an absolutely stunning backdrop for a wedding. It is lined with beautiful paintings of monarchs, and King Charles married Camilla there 21 years ago. Elton John also got married at the Guildhall! Windsor Guildhall is a stone’s throw from Windsor Castle (literally, but please don’t try this, I imagine the armed guards wouldn’t like it very much).
I started my day with Simon as he had a calming pint with his best man and some friends at the Horse and Groom pub, conveniently situated a few steps from the Guildhall. He then went to greet guests, and have his pre-wedding meeting with the registrars, whilst I waited outside to capture Amy as she arrived (looking stunning!) with her dad!
The ceremony was lovely, and Amy and Simon looked absolutely delighted to finally be husband and wife! The ceremony was followed by drinks in the ceremony room, and we whizzed through a couple of family photographs. After drinks it was time to leave the Guildhall, and Amy and Simon were showered with confetti as they left. Guests then had a bit of a break whilst we spent some time wandering the cobbled streets of Windsor taking bride and groom portraits. Windsor is so gorgeous, there are lots of lovely spots for couple photographs. We headed down to the iconic Long Walk (in front of Windsor castle) which is always a perfect spot for some wedding photography. Amy and Simon then ended up at the Two Brewers for a well deserved drink before I went home and they went on to a celebratory dinner with their guests. Huge congratulations to the very happy couple, thank you so much for trusting me to be your photographer.
