Chenies Manor Wedding Photography – Poppy and Fraser

Chenies Manor Wedding Photography – This wedding was incredible. It was chockful of interesting (and extremely good looking!) people and the bride and groom were just divine. Poppy and Fraser are beautiful inside and out and it was a real joy to be chosen to photograph their wedding day.

I started my day photographing Poppy getting ready with her girls at her gorgeous family home. This home is a beautiful cottage in Chorleywood, just round the corner from Chenies Manor House. I knew instantly that it was going to be a very special day – the atmosphere was wonderful, full of fun and excitement. I loved how Poppy’s bridesmaids were dressed in mismatched dresses which coordinated perfectly. Their faces when they saw Poppy in her wedding dress for the first time is one of my favourites from the morning!

After prep I whizzed off to the church. St Michael’s in Chenies is very conveniently located right next to Chenies Manor. After a bit of initial confusion (Fraser has an identical twin brother!) I worked out who was getting married that day! Poppy and her Dad arrived in a lovely vintage car (sorry car-nuts, no idea what it was, but it looked very pretty!). The ceremony was tremendous. I loved seeing how delighted and relaxed Poppy and Fraser seemed together. Another highlight was hearing the beautiful song ‘The first time every I saw your face’ used as a wedding reading, and learning that it was written by the groom’s grandfather about his grandmother! It’s such a beautiful song that I’ve heard multiple times sung in wedding ceremonies, and I was very excited to meet said grandmother (the talented folk singer Peggy Seeger) after the ceremony!

Fraser’s whole family is rammed full of musical talent to the extent that the family band (including Poppy’s Dad!) performed for the evening – they were excellent and the dancefloor was packed all night!

It was a fabulous day, and lovely Chenies Manor (where the reception was held) was looking as stunning as ever. I’m always amazed how the gardens look wonderful whatever season I’m photographing a Chenies Manor wedding in! We were very well looked after by Lucie, event manager extraordinaire and all round excellent person! The food (by Kalm Kitchen) was delicious and an excellent time was had by all!

Huge congrats to the newlyweds, and best wishes for an amazing life together!

Thank you to the team of suppliers who helped put the day together:
