Gate Street Barn wedding photography – Gate Street Barn is a stunning Surrey wedding venue nestled in the Surrey Hills. It’s situated in Bramley, just south of Guildford and it’s one of my favourite wedding venues. The first wedding I ever photographed was here (15 years ago!) and I’ve worked here regularly ever since.
Just before wedding season kicks off again I’m doing a series of venue spotlights which I hope will help if you’re searching for a wedding venue near London. Here are a selection of real wedding photographs from just a handful of the dozens of weddings I’ve photographed at Gate Street Barn over the years!
There are many reasons I love Gate Street. The barn itself is obviously very beautiful, but two outside spots are licensed for weddings too. They have a big range of accommodation options on site too, which is really helpful for the ‘getting ready’ stage of the day, as well as prolonging the party! They also have a second main building for the wedding day called the Pheasantry, which is incredibly handy in case of inclement weather (some smaller wedding barns don’t have a second room, which can make it a bit awkward if you need to be inside whilst the room is turned around between the ceremony and wedding breakfast).
Gate Street Barn has really pretty gardens and land around it which means there are lots of different spots for couple photographs – hopefully you can see the variety in the selection of photographs below. I love the fact that you can get photographs in different locations without having to go too far – I’m always conscious that I don’t want to take couples away from their guests (and canapes!) for too long!
There are also several different options for the best place to take group photographs. The handy thing for me about returning to a favourite wedding venue is that when I’ve photographed weddings in many seasons and weather conditions I can advise the best spot and angle to avoid squinting into the sun/getting wet etc!
