Micklefield Hall Wedding Photography – This was my second of three Micklefield hall weddings over a weekend and it was another beautiful one. Lauren and Tom did things a little differently to some couples and I absolutely loved it! Nowadays I always think couples should keep the traditions they like, and scrap the ones they don’t fancy.
Lauren and Tom got ready together at Lauren’s parents’ house in Ruislip (3 mins down the road from where my Grandma lived for 75 years!). It’s very rare that I get to see a groom helping his bride do up her wedding dress but I absolutely loved it! I also loved the personalised PJs and dressing gowns that the wedding party wore.
The wedding ceremony was just down the road at the Church of Most Sacred Heart in central Ruislip, and Lauren and Tom travelled there together in a gorgeous vintage bus. After the touching ceremony we all set off to lovely Micklefield Hall, a Hertfordshire wedding venue situated in the countryside near Rickmansworth. The weather was kind enough to let us take bride and groom portraits outside in the stunning grounds. We were even lucky enough to get a pretty sunset after the (delicious) meal!
Tom and Lauren aren’t big dancers so didn’t do the traditional first dance…instead they hired a company to turn the marquee into an amazing games room! There was a Bucking Bronco, Scalextric, Table Football, Air Hockey and various other super fun things that I don’t even have a name for! They also hired an amazing band (Half Cut – I loved them, bit more rock and roll than your average wedding band!) for their guests who did love to dance (and there were lots of them!). Such a fabulous idea – so much fun for everyone!
