Hindu Wedding Photography – This is my first Indian wedding of the year and it was such a pleasure to be there capturing it for Ritu and Achit. I photographed their intimate registry ceremony a couple of weeks earlier so loved being back with them to photograph their Hindu ceremony and reception at Micklefield Hall.
We were very lucky and had some lovely spring weather. The sun was shining as Achit and his family arrived at Micklefield Hall, lead in by a very talented Dhol player. There was then the Milni ceremony, with members of both families exchanging garlands.
Ravi Sharma (a Hindu priest) lead the wedding ceremony. I’ve photographed lots of Hindu wedding ceremonies but particularly loved this one – Ravi Sharma was excellent at translating and explaining the significance of the many traditions in the ceremony.
Ritu and Achit are a wonderful couple, and the whole day was fabulous. Their families are very warm and the joy everyone felt for the happy couple was very evident.
Thank you to the great team of suppliers on the day (especially Abbie from Micklefield – great job!). Double thanks to Ragasaan for the delicious (as ever!) food. Any day where Ragasaan are catering breakfast, lunch and dinner is going to be a good day!
