Oshwal Centre Wedding Photography – I’m really delighted to share some photos from Ria and Khush’s Hindu wedding. The wedding was held at the end of March and the first part of the day was held at Micklefield Hall. Micklefield Hall was looking beautiful – the gardens were bursting with daffodils and cherry blossom.
I started my day by popping to see Ria in the bridal suite where she was having her make up applied, then went over to photograph Khush having his turban put on. When he was ready it was time for a procession of the groom and his family to meet Ria’s family. The procession was lead by two dhol players, and there were flares and fabulous dancing. I loved it!
The Hindu wedding ceremony was held in a beautiful mandap in the barn at Micklefield Hall. It was a very touching ceremony, and I loved the games before and after it. The stealing of the groom’s shoes was particularly enthusiastic!
Just before everyone left there was a happy Vidaii, coconut crushing and some enthusiastic negotiating between both sides of the family. Luckily the bride’s family were satisfied with the amount of money in their envelopes (after rigorous counting had taken place!) so the Khush and Ria were allowed to drive off!
The next part of the day happened at the Oshwal Centre, round the M25 in Potter’s Bar. We were very lucky and the sun peeked out, so we had a chance for some stunning bride and groom portraits. After a quick prayer with their parents and a delicious meal, Khush and Ria did a meet and greet with lots of family and friends.
