Surrey Headshot Photographer – With the rise of social media and the internet, I’m getting more and more enquiries for business headshots, branding shoots, or profile photographs for Linkedin/corporate websites etc. My first question is always – what style were you after? Here are a few examples of the different types of headshot or business profile photographs I can offer.
Inside or Outside? One decision to make which can affect the feel of the final portraits is whether you want to the shoot to be inside or outside. Here’s an example of some team and individual business headshots for staff at a property company. We chose to do the shoot in London, near the team’s office to add some life and context to the photographs. It’s nice to tie in the background to the industry you work in where possible. For example, when I photographed an author for her book sleeve portrait we tried a variety of types of shot and of backgrounds, but the ones the publishers chose were ones photographed in front of a book shelf (good ideas don’t have to be original!). You can get a similar more natural look inside your office too, with portraits taken at desks or in an attractive part of the office!
Sometimes a simple green background is all you need, and can be a bit softer than a studio background. Headshots can all be provided in colour and black and white versions if required.
Formal studio style portraits – For some clients or industries traditional is best, and an inside studio style portrait fits the bill. Although these are, by definition, more formal, they can still be warm, and we can experiment with different expressions.
Combined headshot and branding shoots – here’s a more relaxed shoot I did in my own home for a fresh young television production staffing company (hello Talented People!). As well as headshots (typically showing just head and shoulders) – we did some less close up individual portraits, plus some more editorial/lifestyle photography for use in blog posts and on their websites.
