As any of my Facebook friends and likers will know (because I might have mentioned it once or twice!) I am now officially an award winning wedding photographer! A couple of weeks ago the hubbie and I popped on our glad rags and headed into London town to attend the Wedding Ideas magazine’s annual awards. I was thrilled to have made it to the finals and excited about having a night out…but I was up against some very talented wedding photographers from around the UK so I didn’t actually think for a second that I would win. I had been practicing my ‘I’m not disappointed at all, oh no’ face, and it hadn’t occurred to me to think up a speech….and as you can see from the photograph below I was absolutely, totally gobsmacked when I heard I had won and that Wedding Ideas mag think I am the UK’s best wedding photographer!!!
Collecting my award was a bit of a blur and I passed up the opportunity to make a speech….so here are the thank yous I should have made on the night. Thank you firstly to friends like Penny and Jo who encouraged me before I’d even thought about going pro….to Dave & Catherine and Brian & Rachel for trusting me to photograph their weddings as my first couple of wedding photography jobs. And thank you to my mum and Joe for endless babysitting (although Joe it’s not babysitting when it’s your own children!). Oh and thank you for my twin sister Pip for just being awesome.
