Chawton House Wedding Photography – This was an incredibly special wedding for me to photograph as it was held in Chawton. Chawton is the small Hampshire village I grew up in (and which still feels like home). The wedding ceremony was in St Nicholas church, the church where I was christened quite a lot of decades ago! Chawton is a special place for non-egotistical reasons too – it’s where Jane Austen used to live, and where she wrote Mansfield Park, Emma, and Persuasion.
Abbie and Andy love the village and were very happy to be able to tie the knot in such a beautiful place. They are a fabulous couple and so loved up (and gorgeous, inside and out). They were a joy to photograph. After the ceremony we walked up to Chawton House (previous inhabitant – Jane Austen’s brother!) where the guests enjoyed drinks and canapes and we got to wander the grounds for some heavenly photos.
After the reception the guests all walked across a field (avoiding the sheep!) to Dyers Barn where the delicious wedding breakfast and fabulous speeches were. Lots of evening guests then arrived and were treated to crepes, ice cream and bacon and egg baps. Oh, and wedding cake and brownies. A wedding with lots of food is my type of wedding! It was such a lovely, happy day – perfection.
