Surrey Wedding Photographer – I normally try and pull together a ‘best of’ blog post and slideshow of my favourite wedding photographs of the previous year every January. At the start of January. Well, this year is slipping by so quickly and embarrassingly it’s already mid February…but better late than never!
2019 was another amazing year for wedding photography. I can’t believe it but it was my 11th wedding season! There were so many highlights for me – a backflipping groom, a bride leading a conga of her wedding guests onto a carousel and the cheers of a hundred wedding guests when the power came back after an 8 hour power cut, just in time for the dancing (phew!). I’ve cried and laughed with my couples during ceremonies and speeches, I’ve played tag with flower girls and I’ve narrowly avoided being roped into a game of dodgeball! I’ve eaten cake and captured hundreds of thousands of images, with a smile on my face almost all the time because I feel so lucky that I get to do this all as a job.
Professionally it was an exciting year as I won DWHA magazine’s best wedding photographer award for the whole of the UK and Ireland! Well, I actually won it for my 2018 work but have only just found out (long story!), so I thought worth mentioning here! I was also a regional finalist in the Wedding Industry Awards. Whoop!

Thank you also to all the brilliant suppliers I’ve worked with (too many to list!), and all the great venues (and caterers!) that have looked after me so well. I’ve been back to regular favourites like Micklefield Hall, Cain Manor, Gate Street Barn, Northbrook Park and Farbridge, as well as some lovely new venues and marquees.
