Cissbury Barns Wedding Photography – Oh what a day! Zoe and James tied the knot on a properly gorgeous spring afternoon at the beautiful Cissbury Barns in Sussex. It was one of those days where everything just feels a little bit magical (and not just because of the sunshine… although that definitely helped!).
From the moment I arrived, the whole vibe was relaxed, happy and full of laughter. Zoe looked absolutely stunning (as did her bridesmaids!), and James didn’t scrub up too badly either. Cissbury Barns is such a fab venue – nestled in the South Downs with dreamy views in every direction. It’s hard not to keep spinning around saying “wow” every five minutes. I particularly loved how helpful and ‘on it’ the staff were!
This wedding was extra special for me – I’ve had the absolute pleasure of photographing Zoe’s sister’s and her two cousins’ weddings, so it felt like being welcomed back into the family! So many familiar, smiley faces and such a treat to catch up with everyone again (I may have shed a tiny happy tear or 5 during the speeches…).
One of the standout moments of the day was our little golden hour mission – we snuck out for some sunset portraits, and oh my goodness, the light was perfection. Warm, glowy, and soft – a photographer’s dream. That said, there was a brief moment of excitement when we were enthusiastically pursued by a rather curious horse 😅. We escaped unscathed (just!) and the photos were so worth it.
The evening carried on in the most brilliant way – lots of dancing, heaps of laughter, and some unexpectedly excellent DJing courtesy of Zoe’s dad and his friend, who brought back their teenage DJ set and absolutely smashed it! Such a fun, personal touch and the dancefloor loved it.
Zoe and James, thank you for letting me be part of your amazing day. It was filled with love, sunshine, and just the right amount of scariness (looking at you, horse). Wishing you all the happiness in the world!
