Cain Manor Wedding Photography – I went to school with Kerry a few years ago (more than I like to think about!) and I was delighted when she asked me to photograph her wedding to William. It was such a joy to meet her lovely children and catch up again after so many years.
Cain Manor is a really beautiful country house wedding venue near Headley on the Hampshire/Surrey border. It’s part of the Bijou Wedding Venues group (like its sister venue, Botleys Mansion) and it really is the perfect wedding venue! Kerry and William had their wedding ceremony at St Andrew’s church in Medstead, Hampshire, where Kerry grew up. We then drove off to Cain Manor for the wedding reception. We were pretty lucky with the weather (given it was January in England!) and were able to get outside for some photographs in the pretty gardens. The kids loved running around out there too. Kerry and William had hired Kevin Durham who is the most brilliant modern toastmaster (he hasn’t paid me to say that, I promise!). He was a world away from some of the stuffy more traditional toastmasters you can get – I haven’t seen any other toastmasters organising a game of British Bulldog with the kids, or playing Heads Up with every table during the wedding breakfast!
Another highlight of the wedding was the incredible ‘West End Singing Waiters‘. They are a very talented group of West End artists who pretended to be waiters, then burst into song. They really got the party started, getting a conga going and everyone up on their feet. I love live singing and have to admit that they brought a tear to my eye – what amazing voices! Hopefully I’ll see you at lots of my future weddings! (To clarify – future weddings that I photograph. I’m not planning multiple future husbands, honest!).
