Windsor wedding photographer – Just before wedding photography season started last year I photographed this wonderful Windsor elopement styled shoot and I absolutely loved it! I have been photographing weddings (and companies and families!) for over 15 years and had never photographed a shoot with a professional model before. Moreover, I had not worked together with a team to make some beautiful images ‘just because’ and I’m so happy that I said yes because I loved it more than I could have predicted!
Jennifer Fogerty is an incredible Windsor based hair and make up artist. She came up with the concept for the shoot and pulled together an amazing small team of women from the Windsor area to produce some beautiful images showcasing all our work. I’d wanted to photograph a bride in a short dress for ages, and I’m a bit obsessed with large bows, so I was very excited when I saw the shoot mood board and the dress Jen had borrowed from the amazing Rasha Kashou.
We started the shoot at the Castle Hotel (who very kindly loaned us a beautiful room and let us shoot in and around the hotel itself), where Jen expertly made up our beautiful model Hannah. It was lovely to meet Sam, the florist behind Hannah’s stunning bouquet, and we had a really great day. As well as photographing bridal prep style photos in the hotel room we took photos throughout the hotel, including the iconic stairs, and by a very pretty window. We played around with direct flash for after party vibes which was a lot of fun. Finally, we frolicked around the streets of Windsor for a few outdoor photos.
Windsor is such a great city for wedding photography. The Crown Hotel is right opposite Windsor Guild Hall, which makes a pretty backdrop for photos. The Windsor Guild Hall is a also fab wedding venue – the King himself got married there, as did pop royalty Elton John! It is one of my favourite local wedding venues at which to photograph. Conveniently for me I live in Englefield Green, just 10 mins down the road from Windsor. For wedding photography options in the area, I love the pillared area and the red doors of the Guild Hall, plus the cobbled streets right next to it. A minute or so stroll away is Windsor Castle which is obviously also a fabulous backdrop for some wedding photos! We also nipped down the hill to Windsor Bridge, which joins Windsor to Eton for a few river photos.
