Hertfordshire wedding photographer – It was such a pleasure to be back at Micklefield Hall, one of my absolute fave wedding venues. It’s an exclusive use luxury barn wedding venue in Hertfordshire, near Rickmansworth, and it’s absolutely beautiful. It is run by the nicest, kindest family which makes it a joy to visit.
Lauren and Paddy were the most wonderful bride and groom. They grinned all day and absolutely radiated love and fun. As soon as I entered the bridal preparation suite I knew that it was going to be a fun day – the atmosphere was brilliant. The smiling and laughter continued all the way down the aisle, until it made way for some great laughing tears (the best kind of tears) from both bride and groom.
After tying the knot by the pond (a totally magical wedding setting) guests lined up along the herbaceous border to throw confetti at the newlyweds. I gave Lauren and Paddy my normal pre-confetti pep talk (“It’s not as fun as it looks, but pretend it is!”)…then Lauren pulled the most brilliant horrified faces throughout the whole of the confetti run. I love the resultant photos!
Another highlight of this wedding for me was the moment after the first dance when Lauren’s bridesmaids surprised her by bringing giant cardboard cut-outs of her cats onto the dance floor. Genius way to incorporate your cats into your wedding day!
