James contacted me a few months ago to buy his wife a family photo shoot for her birthday – which is such a great idea (although I realise I might be a bit biased)! We’d scheduled the shoot for October in the beautiful Cannizaro Park but the weather wasn’t kind to us (although bizarrely it was gorgeous the next day when I photographed this mummy and son shoot in Cannizaro Park). We moved the shoot to December, which can obviously be a bit hit and miss with the weather but we were very lucky to get a lovely mild day and even a hint of sunshine. Winter sunshine is great to shoot in as the sun is low in the sky, meaning the light is soft and warm – heaven!
Most of my family shoots are with babies and little children, which of course I love…but it was really fun to photograph a family with grown up children (not just because they’re particularly beautiful!). It made a change to work with people who did what I suggested without needing to be bribed with Haribo! Belated Happy Birthday Anna, thank you for introducing me to your lovely family!
