Micklefield Hall Wedding Photography – Oh my oh my oh my – this was the MOST amazing wedding! Tanya and Alex (and their families) are so much fun and the whole wedding was full of love and joy and laughter. It was so great to photograph a Jewish (or ‘Jew-ish’ as they termed it!) wedding for a change!
I arrived at the bridal suite at Micklefield Hall to the sight of Tanya in a very cool personalised pre-wedding onesie, and could tell immediately that it was going to be a fun wedding – everyone was so lovely and friendly (thank you!). I captured some photos of the bridal party getting ready (although it was questionable at one moment whether Tanya would actually want to take off her mega comfy onesie!). I then went to photograph the men at the Tisch, where Alex’s friends had to convince Tanya’s father that Alex was a decent guy who should be allowed to marry his precious daughter…luckily they managed!
The wedding ceremony was conducted under a beautiful huppah set up on the lawn at Micklefield. The weather was stunning and it was really a breathtaking place for a ceremony. As you can see from the photographs, Alex’s face was full of joy when he saw Tanya for the first time, just before the badeken (when the groom places the veil over his bride’s face). There were a few brilliant unconventional touches – instead of Tanya circling Alex seven times they both circled each other three and a half times, and they smashed a glass each at the end of the ceremony.
After the ceremony it was on to the drinks reception – as well as canapes there was an incredible sushi bar, then on to a three course meal – SO MUCH FOOD – amazing!!! There was dancing and speeches between courses, including some AMAZING Israeli dancing. The whole day was so full of energy and laughter that my cheeks hurt at the end of the day from grinning so much!
A big shout out to fab suppliers (if I’ve missed anyone let me know and I’ll add you!):
