Bartholomew Barn Wedding Photography – Alice and Barry got married on yet another beautiful and scorching hot day that the summer of 2018 is treating us to! This is my 10th year of wedding photography and I’ve never had even close to this number of sunny weddings in a season…it’s most bizarre!
Alice and Barry are really lovely, as are their families – I felt so welcomed, thank you. Alice didn’t fancy photographs of her getting ready so I started my day at the picturesque village church of St Mary’s in Washington, West Sussex (as an aside – I wonder how many churches there are in Surrey and Sussex called St Mary’s?! I must have photographed weddings in at least 5 different St Mary’s in the area!). The ceremony was lead by a very nice vicar who was such a good friend of the bride’s family that one of his daughters was one of the bridesmaids! The connection made for a particularly personal and lovely ceremony. After that there was some very enthusiastic confetti throwing (I think the bride and groom were surprised by how much confetti ended in their mouths!) followed by a stylish exit in a Jaguar E-Type!
The wedding reception was held at beautiful Sussex barn Bartholomew Barn (in Kirdford, near Petworth). It is one of my regular wedding venues and it was great to be back. The barn was looking stunning in the sunshine and the guests enjoyed an array of garden games, and the delicious meal. The evening was kicked off in style with a lively (and hot!) ceilidh.
Congratulations on your brilliant day!
