Chelsea Old Town Hall wedding photography – Ooh I do love a London wedding! Preya and Al had a beautiful intimate registry office wedding at the Chelsea Old Town Hall (also known as the Kensington and Chelsea Register Office, which doesn’t have quite the same ring to it!). They went on to have a bigger wedding celebration the following week (sadly I wasn’t available to shoot it – drat!), but chose to surround themselves with family for the legal ceremony. Good excuse for extra parties (and extra wedding dresses!) if you ask me!
I joined Preya for some photographs as she got ready in her sister’s beautiful house in Barnes (oh how I miss South West London!). The atmosphere was remarkably calm, especially as her super cute niece and nephew were getting ready in the house at the same time. We then all jumped into a taxi and headed into town. The ceremony was lovely (and the registrars were super friendly – I have found that registrars seem to be getting nicer and nicer!), and we had great fun doing confetti and photographs on the steps outside the town hall (which the kids enjoyed jumping off).
The bride, groom and I then headed back to Barnes in an Uber. Yup, an Uber – I’ve seen a lot of different vehicles used for weddings, but never an Uber before! We took a few more photos along the river, then joined Preya and Al’s guests at Rick Stein’s new restaurant (which I remember when it was called The Depot!). I left the wedding party as they were about to sit down for what looked like a delicious meal!
Preya and Al – what a fun celebration! Congrats again!
