Best wedding photography of 2016, by Surrey wedding photographer Sarah Legge – Oh my, what a fantastic year it’s been! There have been so many special moments – fathers moved to tears by the sight of their beautiful daughter in her wedding dress, a dog as page boy, a groom thrown high into the air during spectacular Israeli dancing, a bride whose veil nearly flew away into the Thames whilst crossing Tower Bridge in an open top London bus, 4 weddings in a row at the magnificent Micklefield Hall, a bride who wore three different wedding dresses (not at once), a grandfather/granddaughter duet…and mainly a whole load of beautiful people marrying the loves of their life.
From a business point of view it’s also been a great year – I’ve been added to more wedding venues’ recommended photographers lists, photographed 37 weddings (taking my career tally to 199!) and have been shortlisted as Bridebooks ‘wedding photographer of the year’ (if you’re reading this in Jan 2017 there’s still a chance to vote for me here!)…but really the thing I have to pinch myself to believe is that, yet again, I’ve made a living from capturing people on the happiest of days – a tremendous honour and an incredible joy. On a personal front, we moved our little family out to Surrey (so I really am a ‘Surrey wedding photographer’ now, after years of calling myself one!) – after dreaming about it forever we’ve finally got a garden where my little boys can play football!
I owe a huge thank you to all the brides and grooms who trusted me to capture their day – thank you!
Enough words – hopefully you can see from these pictures why I’ve loved 2016 so much!
Woo hoo – that’s it! Thanks for reading this far. Here’s to an even better 2017!
