Me
I have a passion for people and photography that shines through in my work. I specialise in capturing spontaneous moments in a natural manner. I am always happy to talk about photography (and weddings!) so if you think I might be right to take your photographs then give me a ring for a chat.
I'm a member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers and I do, of course, have public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
I'm also featured on the Rock My Wedding Love Lust List
Weddings
I am a real romantic, so combining photography with the romance of a wedding is my dream job. Cheesy as it sounds, I'm thrilled and touched each time a couple invites me to photograph their wedding day - it feels like such an honour.
My style is unobtrusive and relaxed, aiming to produce beautiful, natural images without ordering everyone around (I've heard tales of photographers asking for couples to walk down the aisle three times to get the perfect shot - that is definitely not my style!). I pick up the details and capture the key moments and emotions as your day unfolds.
I shoot mainly in an unposed, reportage style, but am very happy to take some more traditional group shots. I recommend keeping these to below 10 groups to maximise the time you spend with your guests. I also like to spend some time away from the guests taking some shots of just the bride and groom.
Before the big day we'll have a good chat, and I'll want to hear all about the details of the day - I'll probably ask about more than I strictly need for the photos but knowing the special touches will help me get to know you and to learn more about what part of the day is particularly important for you.
After the wedding I'll edit your images and aim to get them up in a password protected gallery on my website within a month of the wedding. I'll also post you a DVD with high resolution files for all the images. Once you've received the pictures we can talk about any other requirements you have - albums, canvas prints etc.
Newborn photography
I love taking photos of newborn babies at their home. Birth dates are, of course, pretty unpredicatable, so book me and tell me your due date and I'll try my best to accommodate your little arrival when they decide to turn up! The best time for classic newborn photos is in the first 10 days after birth before they lose that lovely curled up look, but we can of course get some nice images at any time. Sessions normally last an hour, but I'll stay for longer if your baby is enjoying himself! And of course, if when the time comes you don't feel up to having some photos done we can always reschedule e.g. for some first birthday photos. Check out newborn shoots here.
Families and children
I offer 1 hour photography sessions in your home (within half and hour of Wandsworth), my home (Wandsworth) or on location (e.g. in your favourite park) to capture spontaneous, fun pictures of your babies/children at play (and you too, if you want to be included). Between us we can work out a good venue – for babies a simple double bed with a white duvet cover often works well (I tend to get in close and work with a narrow depth of field so the background isn’t hugely important), whilst your garden or a local park provides the space to run/toddle around for older toddlers and children. As with my wedding photography, I aim to be as unobtrusive as possible. I might give a little direction if required, but there'll be no forced, unnatural poses, and certainly no dodgy false library backgrounds like in my old school portraits! Note that during the wedding season weekend appointments are quite limited, and often restricted to the Wandsworth area but get in touch and I can see if I can fit you in.
